Hello, my name is Kate and I am grateful you found me in your search for support. I appreciate the vulnerability it takes to seek therapy and allow someone to enter into your world. As a therapist, I work with you to create a safe space to address traumas, achieve goals, and assign meaning in their lives.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in the state of Washington. I work under the supervision of Clinical Psychologist Dr. Katherine Skillestad Winans (PY60170774, PSYPACT, APIT Number 17069). I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2023 and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest University in 2025.
I strive to understand people from a holistic perspective, accounting for biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors. My trauma-informed counseling approach primarily pulls from Emotion Focused Therapy and Existentialism, and I find value in interventions from other evidenced based approaches like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work with adults, both individuals and couples, to address a variety of difficulties and concerns, and offer both telehealth and in-person services.
I believe that counseling is restorative work and therefore I seek to highlight an individual’s strengths and capacity for growth. The counseling space is sacred and I am deeply honored to hold the stories of others and to walk with them to find healing and wholeness. I look forward to connecting with you, and am available to schedule a free consultation.
